Message S.A.E.,which is rated for grade, indicated by marks on the head of the bolt, and metric, which is rated for hardness, labled by a number on the head. Bolts are rated for stength OR grade. Not the same thing.The SAE standard can be confusing because it's grade is identified by the number of marks on its head + 2. So getting a bolt with a standard grade can be decieving. Thats why you don't buy bolts from hardware stores, because they often don't have SAE bolts.
